Cannabis lowers Blood Pressure in Hypertensive Older Adults

Researchers have made a novel discovery that suggests older person's blood pressure could be lowered by medical cannabis. This is the first analysis of its kind to examine how cannabis affects heart rate, BP, and metabolic parameters in persons 60 and older with hypotension.
Researchers discovered a significant drop in the study's 24-hour systolic and diastolic bp values, with lower points occurring 3 hours after consuming cannabis, either in the oral form via oil extracts or by smoking. Patients had lower BP during the day and at night, with more major changes at night.
Researchers hypothesize that the relief from pain, which is the most ordinary reason for prescribing cannabis, may have also helped contribute to a reduction in blood pressure.
